Nadine & Art in Key West, FL

Nadine and Art knew they wanted a non-traditional wedding and that was the first step to creating a modernly chic wedding at the Casa Marina in Key West, FL.

Everything about this event was unique and creative, stepping away from traditional white and going right for blue; any and all shades of it! From entrance to the ceremony hosting a blue aisle runner and blue hanging lanterns, you knew from the start that this event was full of personality! For the reception, traditional flower arrangements would have looked too petite in comparison to the beautiful patio with high ceilings. For a unique architectural look, we placed palm leaves in huge vases surrounded by hot pink orchids. The florist brought more color to the tables by dyeing the flower water deep turquoise, the stark white table linens and dark wicker chargers finished the look. The design was very linear with elements of fun. Highlights of the evening include:

• Mojito (Cuban Rum Drink) place cards; each guest was offered a Mojito as they entered the party with individual names/table assignments attached to sugar cane stirrers!
• Candy buffet; featuring candies in every shade of blue imaginable! Each guest was offered an individual candy scooper at their place setting and the candy buffet was with lined with burlap bags wrapped in blue ribbon.
• An element of their Cuban culture was achieved with a cigar roller, custom rolling cigars for each guest.
• Nadine and Art opted for non-traditional when it came to the cake; instead offering tiramisus to their guests (Art's favorite).
